Grand Slam Charters is run by Captain Josh Holmes. A South Florida native and also a Miami-Dade Fire Fighter, Captain Josh grew up on the South Florida waters. He has been fishing competitively for over 20 years and has been a professional guide for over 10 years. Captain Josh is a sponsored fisherman, which is the result of years of success at multiple South Florida fishing tournaments. His expert knowledge of the South Florida waters will help ensure your fishing charters with him are a success. And since Captain Josh is a fire fighter and licensed paramedic, you can rest assured that he'll be able to handle any safety event in the unlikely even that one might arise.
Grand Slam Charters and Captain Josh operate a 34ft Sea Vee center-console fishing machine for all of their offshore and reef fishing charters. This sponsored boat is the same one Captain Josh uses to fish in tournaments throughout the year. It is powered by twin Suzuki 300hp 4-stroke dual prop outboard engines that give it a top speed of over 50 knots, quickly getting you offshore and onto the fish. The spacious boat has a capacity of 7 passengers (6 anglers and Capt. Josh) and the center console design allows for fishing throughout the boat.
Grand Slam Charters also operates an 24ft Pathfinder Tournament boat for their inshore charters that is perfect for the Florida flats and back country fishing. The boat is powered by a Yamaha 300hp 4-stroke outboard engine, cruises at over 55 knots, and has a capacity of 5 passengers (4 anglers and Capt. Josh). Also equipped with a 24V Minn Kota trolling motor, two Power Poles for quick anchoring, a 24’ push pole for easy maneuvering, and a second driving platform to help easily spot the fish on the flats - this truly is the perfect boat for you to enjoy a day of fishing the Florida flats and backcountry waters.
Both boats are fully equipped with all electronics, live wells, coolers and safety gear. Captain Josh provides all charters on with top of the line rods and reels from Shimano and Florida Fishing.
